Bio:
I’m a survivor. I was rescued from a hoarding case in 2020 with 11 other chickens, and I’ve been defying the odds ever since. In 2023, I was diagnosed at Cornell with multiple cysts covering my thyroid. Surgery wasn’t an option—but giving up wasn’t either.

I’m a bit of an odd bird. I have poor eyesight, possibly some neurological quirks, and I enjoy standing very still and staring into the void. It’s my thing.

I have a legendary appetite, a carefully measured diet, and I never leave a single bite behind. I prefer my own company—other chickens scare me—and I live inside where I feel safest. I don’t love hands-on help and will absolutely run full speed away when you’re trying to assist me… but don’t take it personally.

Bio:
I was rescued from a Tractor Supply store by a kind employee after a pretty scary start to life. I had splay leg and a serious injury—my right leg was twisted completely behind me, and I couldn’t walk at all.

After vetting at Hurley, I tried hobbles and lots of therapy. My amazing human worked tirelessly to help me stand, but progress stalled. A reassessment confirmed a twisted tibia, and I underwent surgery with Dr. Gunzburg. Months of rehab followed, and while I still have some toe curl, I get around just fine now—and I’m living proof that second chances work.

I’m a happy, outgoing girl who responds to my name… when I feel like it. I’m a little shy around other chickens, so I get my snacks on the down-low. I enjoy human pets when I’m in the mood, but I will always steal snacks from you without hesitation.

Bio:
I was rescued in Warwick, NY by two amazing humans. I had been cruelly tied to a tree—but I’ve bounced back stronger than ever.

I’m an older girl who rules the roost—I’m the boss around here, no question about it. I have absolutely stunning black eyes, which earned me the nickname “Soul Sucker” from my humans. I carry myself with confidence and expect respect (and maybe a little admiration).

Bio:
I was rescued in 2021 along with three friends when my previous human had to move into long-term care and the family couldn’t keep us. I’m a little older and have some arthritis in my feet, but don’t let that fool you—I can still run, jump, and make as much noise as humanly possible when treats are involved.

Every morning, I stage the most dramatic escape from my med snack, acting like it’s the absolute worst thing in the world. My humans are constantly entertained by my antics—I like to think of it as a full-time performance.

I was found roaming a gas station in 2021, covered in mites and with an infection in my left foot. I’m debeaked, which is a cruel thing done in the industry, but I’m resilient and learning to live my best life despite it.

I’m extremely food-driven and will happily steal treats right out of your hand. I’m also very clever—I've convinced the humans to supply me with a secret snack mash.  And when I’m in the mood, I love cuddles, happily relaxing in your arms while getting pets.

I’m definitely one of the girls in charge and always one of the first to come running when I see the treat box open. I’m an old soul with a medical condition affecting my larynx, so I need a little extra care—but that doesn’t stop me from living life to the fullest.

Bio:
I was rescued in 2021 along with my sister when our human could no longer care for us. Sadly, my sister Hunny Bunny passed away in 2024, but I’m still thriving and living life on my own terms.

I’m bold, outspoken, and a true 9lb powerhouse—part Cornish, part Barred Rock, and all personality.  I have an insane appetite thanks to how I was bred—the industry engineered me to grow big and fast, so my strict diet (much to my dismay) is for my own health. I’m not shy about squawking, pecking, or charging anyone who gets near food.

I’m a house chicken at heart: I love car rides (especially pretending to drive when we’re parked), stroller walks, hikes, and lending a “helping wing” in the kitchen. I value my independence and am not into cuddles or being held—but I’m always up for adventure on my own terms.

I was rescued in 2023 from Tractor Supply and raised from a tiny baby chick. You’d think I’d love humans, but nope—I’m a little frantic and prefer to keep my distance. I’m wild, independent, and don’t like to be touched or even looked at.
