For the past five years, Christina has been devoted to these animals—handling their daily care, their health needs, and giving them plenty of love along the way. Now that she is starting her own rescue, she’s really grateful to continue being part of their care.
At this time, the animals are being fostered and receiving daily care through Free To Be Fearless. Free To Be Fearless is actively supporting their care, including financial costs associated with their ongoing needs. Our team is committed to making sure they stay safe, healthy, and happy.
We’re excited to introduce the animals to you and share their stories!

Age: Adult hen, certified miracle girl
Location: Living her best solo life indoors
Bio:
I’m a survivor. I was rescued from a hoarding case in 2020 with 11 other chickens, and I’ve been defying the odds ever since. In 2023, I was diagnosed at Cornell with multiple cysts covering my thyroid. Surgery wasn’t an option—but giving up wasn’t either.
I’m a bit of an odd bird. I have poor eyesight, possibly some neurological quirks, and I enjoy standing very still and staring into the void. It’s my thing.
I have a legendary appetite, a carefully measured diet, and I never leave a single bite behind. I prefer my own company—other chickens scare me—and I live inside where I feel safest. I don’t love hands-on help and will absolutely run full speed away when you’re trying to assist me… but don’t take it personally.
What I’m Looking For:
A sponsor who understands that vulnerable, complex animals still deserve long, cherished lives. Your support helps cover my specialized diet, vet care, and cozy indoor accommodations.
Love Language:
Morning noises demanding warm mash and quiet coexistence.
Fun Fact:
Every day I’m still here shocks my doctors—and delights my humans.
Choose Me If:
You fall for odd birds with big personalities.

Age: Young hen with life experience
Location: Safe at the rescue, thriving
Bio:
I was rescued from a Tractor Supply store by a kind employee after a pretty scary start to life. I had splay leg and a serious injury—my right leg was twisted completely behind me, and I couldn’t walk at all.
After vetting at Hurley, I tried hobbles and lots of therapy. My amazing human worked tirelessly to help me stand, but progress stalled. A reassessment confirmed a twisted tibia, and I underwent surgery with Dr. Gunzburg. Months of rehab followed, and while I still have some toe curl, I get around just fine now—and I’m living proof that second chances work.
I’m a happy, outgoing girl who responds to my name… when I feel like it. I’m a little shy around other chickens, so I get my snacks on the down-low. I enjoy human pets when I’m in the mood, but I will always steal snacks from you without hesitation.
What I’m Looking For:
A sponsor who supports ongoing care, enrichment, and snacks for a resilient girl who fought hard to walk again.
Love Language:
Selective affection and food theft.
Fun Fact:
I answer to my name—but only if it benefits me.

Age: Senior hen, reigning queen
Location: Safe at the rescue, ruling her roost
Bio:
I was rescued in Warwick, NY by two amazing humans. I had been cruelly tied to a tree—but I’ve bounced back stronger than ever.
I’m an older girl who rules the roost—I’m the boss around here, no question about it. I have absolutely stunning black eyes, which earned me the nickname “Soul Sucker” from my humans. I carry myself with confidence and expect respect (and maybe a little admiration).
What I’m Looking For:
A sponsor who loves strong, confident hens and helps provide the care, comfort, and attention a queen like me deserves.
Love Language:
Leadership, respect, and admiration.
Fun Fact:
I may be bossy, but everyone secretly loves it.

Bio:
I was found running around town, and let’s just say… I made quite the impression. I’ve got beautiful, deadly black eyes that see everything, and I like to do things my way—no interference, please.
I’m a little secret performer too: I make a lot of noise when I think no one is watching. Blueberries are my weakness—I’ll do just about anything for them.
What I’m Looking For:
A sponsor who respects my independence, indulges my quirks, and loves a chicken who knows what she wants.
Love Language:
Quiet mischief, secret songs, and blueberries.
Fun Fact:
I can be loud, proud, and completely unnoticed… until you have a snack.

Age: Senior hen with a flair for drama
Location: Safe at the rescue, starring in her own show
Bio:
I was rescued in 2021 along with three friends when my previous human had to move into long-term care and the family couldn’t keep us. I’m a little older and have some arthritis in my feet, but don’t let that fool you—I can still run, jump, and make as much noise as humanly possible when treats are involved.
Every morning, I stage the most dramatic escape from my med snack, acting like it’s the absolute worst thing in the world. My humans are constantly entertained by my antics—I like to think of it as a full-time performance.
What I’m Looking For:
A sponsor who loves seniors with big personalities, enjoys daily comedy shows, and helps keep me comfortable and happy.
Love Language:
Treats, attention, and being the center of the stage.
Fun Fact:
I can make any snack time a full-blown production.

Bio:
I was found roaming a gas station in 2021, covered in mites and with an infection in my left foot. I’m debeaked, which is a cruel thing done in the industry, but I’m resilient and learning to live my best life despite it.
I’m extremely food-driven and will happily steal treats right out of your hand. I’m also very clever—I've convinced the humans to supply me with a secret snack mash. And when I’m in the mood, I love cuddles, happily relaxing in your arms while getting pets.
What I’m Looking For:
A sponsor who loves smart, food-motivated hens, helps support my diet, and provides the care I need to stay healthy and happy.
Love Language:
Food, treats, and cozy cuddles.
Fun Fact:
I can steal your snack before you even realize it exists.

Age: Adult hen, low-key but feisty
Location: Safe at the rescue, enjoying her quiet life
Bio:
I was rescued running around the streets in 2022 and have been living the safe life ever since. I’m a sweet, shy girl who likes to keep to myself most of the time. But don’t get me wrong—if there’s a treat involved, I’ll happily steal it right from your hand.
I’ve earned a bit of a reputation at the vet for being a biter, so everyone’s always on high alert when I arrive. I like my space, my quiet, and the occasional snack.
What I’m Looking For:
A sponsor who appreciates a shy, independent hen, loves to spoil her with treats, and helps support her care...from a distance..
Love Language:
Treats, personal space, and low-key attention.
Fun Fact:
I may bite, but only if it’s warranted—or if there’s a snack nearby.

Age: Senior hen, seasoned and bold
Location: Safe at the rescue, ruling her own little world
Bio:
I was rescued from a hoarding case in 2020 and have been living my best life ever since. I’m bold, bossy, and the undisputed dust-bathing queen. I love to peck and bite humans (don’t take it personally—it’s part of my charm).
I’m definitely one of the girls in charge and always one of the first to come running when I see the treat box open. I’m an old soul with a medical condition affecting my larynx, so I need a little extra care—but that doesn’t stop me from living life to the fullest.
What I’m Looking For:
A sponsor who loves confident, spirited hens and helps provide the extra care I need to stay healthy and happy.
Love Language:
Treats, dust baths, and running the show.
Fun Fact:
I may bite, but only because I care… sort of.

You’re ready to support a fearless old soul and help her thrive.

Age: Adult hen, big personality
Location: Safe at the rescue, boss of her own domain
Bio:
I was rescued in 2021 along with my sister when our human could no longer care for us. Sadly, my sister Hunny Bunny passed away in 2024, but I’m still thriving and living life on my own terms.
I’m bold, outspoken, and a true 9lb powerhouse—part Cornish, part Barred Rock, and all personality. I have an insane appetite thanks to how I was bred—the industry engineered me to grow big and fast, so my strict diet (much to my dismay) is for my own health. I’m not shy about squawking, pecking, or charging anyone who gets near food.
I’m a house chicken at heart: I love car rides (especially pretending to drive when we’re parked), stroller walks, hikes, and lending a “helping wing” in the kitchen. I value my independence and am not into cuddles or being held—but I’m always up for adventure on my own terms.
What I’m Looking For:
A sponsor who loves confident, independent hens and helps provide care, enrichment, and the adventures that keep me happy and thriving.
Love Language:
Exploring, independence, and being part of the action.
Fun Fact:
I'm a great driver!

Age: Young hen, wild at heart
Location: Safe at the rescue, keeping her distance
Bio:
I was rescued in 2023 from Tractor Supply and raised from a tiny baby chick. You’d think I’d love humans, but nope—I’m a little frantic and prefer to keep my distance. I’m wild, independent, and don’t like to be touched or even looked at.
I’m also very timid around other chickens, so we have a daily secret snack ritual that’s my favorite part of the day. When I decide to follow along, it’s my little adventure.
What I’m Looking For:
A sponsor who appreciates a shy, independent hen and helps provide care, enrichment, and the little joys that make her feel safe and happy.
Love Language:
Secret snacks, safety, and quiet independence.
Fun Fact:
I may be wild and wary, but I never miss my daily secret snack.

Age: Adult rooster, big personality
Location: Safe at the rescue, soon joining the boys’ club (Coming soon!)
Bio:
I was rescued in 2022 from animal control in Connecticut and have been living life with a lot of attitude ever since. I’m a big guy with an even bigger personality. I used to live with the girls, but let’s just say they’re all getting older and I’m… a little too enthusiastic. So now I’m moving onto bachelor life with the boys club—everyone’s happier, including the humans.
I may be rough around the edges, but I bring energy, charm, and plenty of personality wherever I go. Stay tuned—I'll soon have some pals of my own, because the girls just can’t handle me anymore.
What I’m Looking For:
A sponsor who appreciates a bold, outspoken rooster and helps provide care, enrichment, and all the adventures a big personality deserves.
Love Language:
Claiming space, loud announcements, and keeping things interesting.
Fun Fact:
I may be rough with the girls, but I’m all heart… in my own way.
Tap Below If:

Age: Adult pig, tiny in size, giant in personality
Location: Safe at the rescue, Living the house life and running it like a boss.
Bio:
I was rescued in 2021 after my previous family could no longer keep me. I spent five years in a basement pen, barely fed (the breeders told them to feed me less so I’d “stay small”), with no hoof trims and zero proper care. The fact that I survived is nothing short of a miracle.
The first year after rescue was rough—my sensitive stomach didn’t adjust easily—but with a strict diet and careful monitoring, I bounced back stronger than ever. I’m resilient, opinionated, and fully in charge of my own life. I’m smaller than most potbellies because of my early neglect, but my attitude? 1000lb pig energy.
I’m a solo pig at heart, not really a fan of other pigs, and love living my own life on my terms. I enjoy warm meals delivered to my door, seven cozy bed options, my own tent, and private backyard access whenever I please. I’m loyal, loving (on my terms), and completely bonded to my human—basically, I’m the best friend you could imagine.
What I’m Looking For:
A sponsor who loves strong-willed, resilient pigs and helps provide lifelong care, comfort, and all the little luxuries a solo pig like me deserves.
Love Language:
Warm meals, private spaces, and unlimited belly rubs… sometimes.
Fun Fact:
I may be small, but I have the opinions and attitude of a giant pig.
Tap Below If:
You believe resilient, independent pigs deserve lifelong care—and all the comforts of their dreams.
